The Beach Flea - Long Beach

The Beach Flea market is one of the largest, most diverse flea markets in the Long Beach area. There are around 200+ vendors that carry an array of different items including vintage clothing, shoes, jewelry, antiques, toys, and more. In addition, there are food trucks, live DJs, and free parking and entry from 10am to 5pm. The Beach Flea is located at Long Beach City College and takes place every other Sunday. The market has a fun theme each time and this past weekend it was Puppy Day, which encouraged people in attendance to bring along their furry friends. My friends and I attended the flea this past weekend and had a great time finding cool pieces and petting adorable dogs.

We began our trip to the Beach Flea by making our way down each row of booths, looking at anything that stood out to us. There were an abundance of vintage tees, sweatshirts, jackets, jeans, CDs and more that were really fun to look through.

While the prices can be a bit higher than a traditional thrift store, many of the vendors at the Beach Flea include a bin or rack at their booth that has clothing at a low, set price like $5 or $10. You are also welcome to negotiate with each vendor to see if they will accept a lower price for an item.

Ultimately, I ended up walking away with a vintage fur coat, tank top, slip dress, and a couple staple jewelry items. While I did spend more money than I would have at a traditional thrift store, I know that these are high quality items that will be in my wardrobe for years to come.

Next time you have a free Sunday, make sure to stop by the Beach Flea to discover some amazing finds! Stay tuned until next week to learn more about where to thrift in the SoCal area.
